Some Features and Data:

The ExCam IP1365 has been designed for use in hazardous areas and it is certified according to European regulations (ATEX) as well as international ones (IECEx) and EAC-Ex. The cameras certification comprises ATEX group I (mining) with a low risk of mechanical threat as well as ATEX group II for zone 1, 2 as well as 21 and 22 including the explosion groups IIC / IIIC with a high risk of mechanical threat.

In accordance with the requirements of the impact and free-fall tests (DIN EN 60079: 0 2012), the housing is suitable for fix and portable applications! During the cameras development stage the focus was clearly laid on security aspects as well as mechanical precision and high-quality stainless steels. In addition, the modular conception of the camera allows a free combination of the individual housing components such as different flanges in combination with the housing body - without any limitations in terms of explosion protection. Regarding the technical parameters we have pushed the limits of what is feasible so that the ExCam IP1365 defines new standards - may it be with regard to media resistance, temperature range, impact resistance or the possible application such as mining.

Media resistance and sealings

Due to high-quality materials used for the ExCam IP1365 it meets the requirements of a comprehensive media resistance list! It is also possible to freely select different stainless steel alloys to reflect the best execution for the application. Even a coating or powder coating of the housing is feasible to realize individual media resistance requirements.
The particularly designed GYLON (PTFE) flat sealing does not only ensure the housing to be watertight (IP68) but also supports the resistance towards several chemicals. The extremely robust and scratch-proof as well as high-impact resistant borosilicate glass fits perfectly into the high-quality materials of the housing body.

Mining

As one of the first pressure-tight camera protection systems, the ExCam IP1365 meets all mining requirements (environments susceptible of fire damps) and is certified according to ATEX/IECEx for equipment group I M2 (Mb). If the housing series is used in in mining environments with a low risk of mechanical damages it is even not necessary to equip the housing with an additional device in order to protect the borosilicate glass! As a result, the ExCam IP1365 allows for the first time a usage of stationary as well as portable surveillance systems underground.

Temperatures

Also with regard to the allowed ambient temperatures the ExCam IP1365 sets new standards. The temperature limits with integrated heater or equipped with an active cooling systems are -60°C and +50°C
(Please refer to the model code)

Portable & stationary applications

In accordance with the requirements of the impact and free-fall tests (DIN EN 60079: 0 2012), the housings of the der ExCam IP1365 are certified as fixed as well as portable explosion proof components. As a result, the application possibilities are almost unlimited.

Easy and cost effective installation due to Power over Ethernet technology

A special feature by the ExCam IP1365 is that the data and the electrical power is provided by just one cable. All you need to connect your camera is a PoE switch or a PoE midspan.
The camera is feeded by power over Ethernet (PoE according to IEEE 802.3af), an expensive extra power feeding cable is dispensable.

Small enclosure – great Resolution (HD)

With a length of just 260 mm and a diameter of 113 mm the ExCam IP1365 is even smaller than some cameras for industrial applications - but with more powerful features. The use of progressive sampling allows the ExCam IP1365 to provide high resolution pictures of moving objects with up to 50 frames per second without motion blur. The ExCam IP1365 provides razor sharp images in HD resolution.

Easy installation with focus assistant, Remote focus adjusting & pixel counter

The focus assistant makes the focus setting of all ExCam IP1365 types easy. A flashing green LED indicates when the image is fine while manually adjusting the lens. The ExCam IP1365 allows the remote fine tuning of the focus from a computer. That reduces the installation procedure in the hazardous area to a minimum. The pixel counter further helps the installer verify that the pixel resolution of an object fulfills regulatory or customer requirements, for example, for facial identification.

Alarm contacts & Event management

The ExCam IP1365 can be flexibly fitted with additional cables. This allows the connection of external digital contacts with the camera logic. These contacts can trigger a videotaping. The ExCam IP1365  can also detect movements in the image or a manipulation of the camera. These events can be indicated by a digital signal.

Local recording & Edge Storage

The ExCam IP1365 supports Edge storage which enables video recording directly to an on-board SD-Card up to 64 GB (subject to surcharge option) or a Network Attached Storage device. Edge storage is sometimes referred to as local storage or onboard recording. Edge storage presents new possibilities to design flexible and reliable recording solutions, optimize bandwidth usage, and lower the cost for remote site recording.

Lightfinder technology

The ExCam IP1365 incorporates Axis unique Lightfinder technology. The outstanding light sensitivity, with maintained colors even in very poor lighting conditions, is obtained by a combination of Axis’ expertise in image processing, system- on chip development and selection of the best optical components.

Digital PTZ & Multi-view streaming

The ExCam IP1365 supports digital pan/tilt/zoom, which allows a selected area of interest to be cropped from the full view for viewing or recording, thereby minimizing the bit rate and storage needs. The ExCam IP1365 also supports multi-view streaming. This allows several cropped view areas to be streamed simultaneously, simulating up to eight virtual cameras.

P-Iris control & Individual lenses

The ExCam IP1365 features a new and advanced precise iris control, P-Iris, that sets new image quality standards for fixed cameras. It comprises a special P-Iris lens together with specialized software in the camera to enable the camera to set the best iris position for optimal image contrast, clarity, resolution, and depth of field. Having good depth of field-where objects at different distances from the camera are in focus simultaneously-allows more of a scene to be clearly visible. P-Iris is especially beneficial for megapixel cameras as it can help the cameras maintain the delivery of crisp, high-resolution images, even in difficult lighting situations. P-Iris uses the same type of connector and cable as the traditional DC-iris control. The ExCam IP1365 allows the installation of a variety of objectives. An internal mounting devise makes sure that the position of the objective of your choice will be placed directly to the borosilicate glass of the camera housing .
