Explosion-proof IP panorama camera with ATEX, IECEx, INMETRO, EAC-Ex approval and more

The ExCam series is certified under both the European (ATEX) and the international directive (IECEx). The explosion-proof housing is approved for ATEX group II for zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 including explosion groups IIC / IIIC. Furthermore, it now also has the INMETRO, UKEX, EAC-Ex approval and more. During the development of the ExCam IPP3827, great importance was attached to safety, mechanical precision and high-quality stainless steel. In addition, a modular structure was at the forefront of the development. With regard to the technical characteristics, we have gone to the limits of what is feasible: In areas such as media resistance and ambient temperature, we are setting standards with the ExCam series.

For a complete overview with just one 180° surveillance camera

A panorama camera is particularly suitable for monitoring large areas and large outdoor areas. The multi-sensory camera enables seamless 180° horizontal and 90° vertical coverage. This is possible thanks to the 4 sensors. The individual images captured by the 4 sensors are stitched together to form a seamless overall image, delivering real-time 180° images with HD resolution, with no blind spots, and a smooth, coherent video stream.

Quick Installation and Wiring - One camera installation

Because only one camera needs to be connected instead of many, installation costs are reduced. Thanks to Power over Ethernet (PoE), data and power supply can be routed in one cable. This means that only a PoE switch or a PoE midspan is required for the connection in the safe area. For the electrical connection via flipConnect please observe our video tutorial. The camera is powered by Power over Ethernet (PoE according to IEEE 802.3at) via the network, eliminating the need for a costly installation of a separate power supply line.

Low video management system costs

The ExCam IPP3827 combines the images from 4 sensors, but counts as a single camera for the video management software. This reduces the system costs. Thanks to H.264/H.265 Zipstream technology, the bandwidth and storage requirements are low and so are the costs for managing HD images and videos.

Unparalleled video quality

The 4 high-quality sensors deliver up to 30 frames per second with a resolution of 7MP.

Rapid positioning of the panorama camera

The ExCam IPP3827 has customizable position presets. This allows the camera to be positioned quickly and easily in the panorama areas.

Lightfinder and Forensic WDR for perfect images even in poor light conditions

Lightfinder ensures sharp images with more realistic and saturated colors even of moving objects. Forensic WDR compensates for differences in brightness in a scene. The HD surveillance camera delivers the best image quality day and night.

Day/night functionality

The ExCam IPP3827 is equipped with a day/night function. This makes them particularly suitable for use in outdoor or indoor areas with poor lighting. When brightness falls below a certain level, the camera automatically switches to night mode to produce high-quality black and white images using near-infrared light. Near-infrared light, which is between 780 and around 1000 nanometers, cannot be perceived by the human eye, or only to a limited extent. The image sensors of the ExCam IPP3827 can recognize and use this light. The infrared blocking filter can be swiveled automatically.

Powerful analysis functions

The ExCam IPP3827 is equipped with a Deep Learning Processor Unit (DLPU) and has advanced analysis functions; many functions in panorama mode, including motion detection.

Media resistance and seals

Thanks to its high-quality materials, the ExCam series is resistant to a large number of media! The specially designed optical dome consists of a plastic that is not only resistant to very low temperatures, but also offers superior optical properties such as very low distortion. The degree of protection is IP66/68.

Temperatures

The limit values of the ExCam IPP3827 are between -50°C and +60°C.

Local Recording Storage & Edge Storage

The ExCam IPP3827 has a microSD/microSDHC/microSDXC slot for memory cards (card not included), which means that every camera has an integrated recording memory. In addition, the camera supports active recordings in a NAS (Network Attached Storage).

Ex-camera with HD resolution in a small dome camera housing

With a length of only 236 mm and a diameter of 216 mm, the ExCam IPP3827 is our first camera in a small dome housing. It's smaller than some safe area camera models - with more powerful features. It is also the first camera with our newly developed plastic dome.

Easy installation

The Tutorial SAMCON 01 Wiring the cable SKDP03-T to the junction box ExTB3 shows the electrical connection of a camera-junction box. In a first step the system cable SKDP03-T is configured. In the next step it is explained how to insert the cable into the terminal box ExTB-3 and how to connect it with the clamps.

Connection via flip Connect

The tutorial Plug & Play Cable Connection via SAMCON flipConnect shows the easy electrical connection of an ex-d camera via flipConnect. The selection of suitable components (cable, gland, RJ45 plug) is important.
