In comparison to other manufacturers, SAMCON does not use polycarbonate for the ExDome®, but a high-tech polysulfone plastic that is also used in aviation technology.

The polysulfone material allows a significant thinner dome cupola guaranteeing better images.
Optimized UV-resistance - a two-part nano-coating protects against the penetrationof UV light and increases durability.
Scratch resistance - the anti-scratch coating facilitates cleaning due to its hydrophobic and water-repellent surface (lotus effect).
Very high transparency: A 40x optical magnification is possible in the camera´s HD field of view with an almost parallel beam path allowing a clear and crisp picture at a high optical enlargement.
