• The device must not be used for applications in the mining industry (ATEX group I), nor in other hazardous areas with potentially "high" risk of damage caused by mechanical stresses (ATEX group II)!
• Furthermore, it must be ensured that the plastic dome of the housing is never subjected to mechanical force.
• No holes, whether blind or clear, may be drilled in the ExCam enclosure other than already provided by the manufacturer.
• The requirements of EN/IEC 60079-14 must be applied.
• The device is delivered without cable  and cable gland. The installation of suitable explosion-proof connection cable kits to the flipConnect is the responsibility of the user; these can be found in the SAMCON compatibility table. The pre-assembled red M25 blanking plug (nylon) is not explosion-proof and serves only as an assembly tool for connecting the cable to the flipConnect and as a dust protection device.
• All used cable glands and plugs have to be certified.
• The following warnings regarding electrostatic charging and the UV coating of the dome on the housing must be present:
